A common FAQ: "How do you pronounce her last name?"
Answer: Think "Bower" or "Thow-er". It's Persian!

Between - Cambria Hebert Even though I've enjoyed the other companions in this series, this one is by far my favorite.I loved the background on Sam and Logan's life, and the mysterious elements woven throughout...the voice, the girl, his strange feelings. All of it creates a sense of anticipation that leaves you reaching for the next book.Great job!
Saving Bobby - Crystal Cattabriga I loved this book because it was unlike anything I expected. I was literally waiting for something to "happen" to Bobby that would require his "saving." I was on pins and needles each time he was approached by a stranger, or turned down an dark alley. But what happened to Bobby instead was a far better story then I could have ever imagined. Hence the 5 stars! :)I love Crystal's writing because of the relationships she builds, and Saving Bobby didn't disappoint in this regard. I experienced a true, heartfelt connection to the characters within.Bravo!
Torn Souls - Crystal Cattabriga Another heavy hitter from Crystal Cattabriga!!Besides that fact that I'm honored to have been mentioned in this book, I can truly say that I loved the story. Witnessing what Julia went through and how, with the help of her family and best friend, Alex, she was able to not only face the situation, but to actually rise above it...was nothing short of inspirational!
Bewitched (Heven and Hell, #2.5) - Cambria Hebert I really enjoyed this look into Kimber's inner thoughts and feelings. I'm a sucker for anything magical, so having Hecate and all her dark magic weaved throughout this book was a sure fire way to get my attention.Bewitched was a quick read which held my interest and left me wanting more!
Raven in the Grave (Pretty in Black, #3) - Rae Hachton I literally couldn't wait for this book to come out, so I talked Rae into giving me an ARC, and all I can say is...THANK YOU!!This story moves at a slightly slower pace than the previous two books, Pretty in Black, and Black Satin, but don't let that dissuade you. It is perfectly paced for the amount of action and emotion that flows through this amazingly written love story. You feel the feelings, you see the scenery...Ms. Hachton you certainly have a way with words; haunting words, poetic words, words that make me want to cry and force me to turn the page.Nevermore is unlike any other world that I've ever read about, and the spin Rae puts on classic characters somehow makes them new again. Also, one of my favorite things about these books is how the author purposely puts in scenes that remind you of others. The most noticeable for me in this one was the reference to Snow White. It's so subtle, but the fact that it's woven in on purpose makes me so happy when I find them. It's like a treasure hunt inside the story. :)Raven in the Grave finds Marcus Marble battling not only himself, but a new mysterious enemy. The discoveries that are made help to open the eyes of not only Marcus, but the entire court of Nevermore and The Land of Naught. And can I just say...Marcus Marble is H-O-T. The tomb scene, *sigh*. He's a hero with a loving heart but who's bad-ass dark side gets to come out and play and I loved it. I simply can't get enough of Marcus! To say that I love this series would be an understatement. It's dark and edgy, and Hachton's writing style is so unique, that once again I'm left waiting with bated breath for the next one.Five stars!!
Castiel - Crystal Cattabriga Fast paced, thought provoking, and heart wrenching.Castiel, book two in the God Blessed the Broken Road series, was the perfect follow-up to book one.Trying his best to move on after the loss of his sister, David, with a little help from an unlikely source, has now become the light in the lives of others. While helping a family travelling down their own "Broken Road," David's able to find a sense of peace of his own. Never did he think that by helping others...he'd be helping himself.
Ties That Bind - T.A. Grey Ties That Bind was a great end to the Bellum Sisters trilogy. I loved Lily and Telal, and was thrilled to see the relationship of Kearnyn and Rosa weaved into the story as well. However, with this being the final book in the series, I wished the epilogue would have finished out more of Alrik's story. (Crossing fingers that maybe more will come in the future!) *hint, hint* :)T.A. Grey is a fantastic writer who can make the page sizzle and leave you wanting one of her heroes for yourself, and I have no doubt that once this series has been polished and edited a bit more, it will be even more popular that it already is.Ms. Grey is a definitely an author to keep your eye on. :)
Black Satin - Rae Hachton It's hard for me to put into words why I love this series so much. I suppose it could be how the author connects me to the characters. I feel their emotions as if they were my own. It could also be the detailed world-building that lets me see exactly the environment in which the characters dwell. Or possibly, it's the staccatic writing style that really seems to work for me. I know some people would describe Hachton's writing style as choppy, but again, I really enjoy it, as I feel it's a true representation of how these characters think and react. But in the end, I suppose it's the originality of the story that really hooks me the most. The Evermores are unique and the story and supporting characters that surround them continues to intrigue me.I can't wait for the next book in this series. Thanks, Rae, for another great read!
Bonds of Fire - T.A. Grey I loved Willow and Lyonis' story. They were so perfect for one another, even though she fought it the whole way.The sexual tension was spot on, though I got a bit tired of Willow accepting him, only to change her mind over and over again. (But, I guess that's a woman's prerogative, right?) LOLT. A. Grey has created a fantastic series with The Bellum Sister's trilogy, and I cannot wait to start book 3, Ties That Bind.
Chains of Frost (The Bellum Sisters, #1) - T.A. Grey I LOVED this book. The story was fantastic and the sex scenes were hot. And even though there were a lot of them...wow, they weren't repetitive or gratuitous, but flowed seamlessly with the story-line.Grey's plot had me hooked from the beginning. Three succubus sisters who were left to three alpha males in the wake of their fathers death, against their will. Talk about tension! It was well written and fast paced, and I can't wait to start the next one in the series.
Mariza - Crystal Cattabriga This heart wrenching story is not the usual genre in which I read, but the emotion of the characters had me hooked from the beginning.Though I would've liked a bit more background about David's initial troubles, the feelings and emotions that he experienced while dealing with one of life's most difficult situations was genuine. The book was fast paced and I read it in one sitting. While the situation that Mariza and David faced is one that I pray I'm never in, I was happy with the ending that Cattabriga wrote for them.I will definitely be reading books two and three in the God Blessed the Broken Road series.
Compulsion - K.B. Miller, Donnell Wallace I really enjoyed the Wiccan facts and rituals that Kymberlee weaved throughout this fast paced story. They were accurate and had me wanting to be a part of the Moon Coven! :)I can't wait to see this story continue!
Pretty In Black (Pretty in Black, #1) - Rae Hachton I'll admit, when I first started this book it had a real "Buffy" feel to it. With the girl being an ex-cheerleader who'd was now facing some dark times in her life due to a family crisis, and then ending up being the chosen one and proving it by catching the knife being thrown at her head. And then especially when I found that her "mentor's" name was Giles. Crazy...BUT...I will tell you, as I continued to read I fell into this story and found that it was nothing like Buffy and it certainly shined in it's own uniqueness.Marcus Marble is a character that I HAVE to know. Hachton's unique take on a new breed of supernatural had me reading this book in one evening. I simply couldn't put it down. It was quick paced and had me engrossed the entire time. The writing was haunting and I loved it. I can't wait for book two-Black Satin.
Entasy - Brynn Myers I had the pleasure of reading this as a beta reader and I can honestly say, I'm so intrigued by this story and all its characters, that it's put a delay in my own writing. I've gotten so wrapped up in Brynn's world and the potential for the next book in the series, I seriously can't focus. LOLThis novella is the prequel to the series that will feature the warriors of The Nine, and if you guys have visited Brynn's website, then you'll know that these warriors are indeed badass!! I can't wait to meet them all!!!Entasy is focused around Kylah and who she thinks she is...who she really is...and the journey to get back to the life she was forced to forget. I LOVE Kylah. She's funny, full of life, and once she faces her past and embraces her destiny, I think she's going to be a force to be reckoned with. Aerric is just downright yummy, and while I love him and can't wait to see their story take shape, the character that I'm completely drawn to is Obsydian (aka Syd.) He is delicious-and in more ways than just the physical. I love his personality. He's fierce yet gentle, and I cannot wait to see the role he plays in Kylah's past and future.I gave Entasy five stars because of the great world building that Brynn achieved with her detailed writing style. I could literally see the images as though I was watching a movie. The characters emotions are real and I was quickly drawn into their world. To say I'm excited to see this series unfold is an understatement. I can't wait to be further drawn into a world of Celtic myth and magic through these amazing characters.
One Grave at a Time - Jeaniene Frost While I did enjoy the story-line, this was one of my least favorites in the series. I can appreciate the more mature Cat and Bones, but I long for the dynamic characters of the past.
Crusade - Nancy Holder, Debbie ViguiƩ I really enjoyed this book! The loved the uniqueness of every character, and eagerly anticipate their development. With a glimpse of each character's back story, there's enough history to keep this series going for a while. I can't wait until the next book to see how Jenn develops in her new role as the lead Hunter! Vampires, witches, werewolves, priests and voodoo queens..... can't get much more exciting than that!!
